What does it mean to be home?
This work was commissioned as part of the #FiliXP project in partnership with Para sa Sining and the Philippines' Department of Foreign Affairs, which featured 'narratives on notions of the Filipino identity, contemporary life of the overseas Filipino, and imagined futures motivated by individual & collective aspirations of the global Filipino community.'

The prompt was to create a visual interpretation of the song "Home"-- written and sung by Filipino musician Jaren Ladia.
There are three visuals centered around what “home” may mean, as the term carries different meanings to different people— whether that’s memorable childhood adventures, the busy streets of Manila, or summer road trips with the family back to the province.

The artworks take on a childlike and playful style, to reflect the cheerful and slightly wistful tone of the song.
When stacked vertically, the cards also form a subtle silhouette outline of the Philippines, as a nod to travel and carrying fragments of home with us wherever we may go.
The final collaborative performance features these works accompanied by a performance from PH-based musician Jaren Ladia and AU-based singer Lindon Mondigo, and can be watched on Youtube
